3 Nephi Christ’s Visit to the Americas. Christ’s visit to the Americas marks the climax of the Book of Mormon when we would expect the greatest of epiphanies, the most illuminating of revelations and the most marvelous of mysteries to be unfolded.

Abridged from the Third Book of Nephi _____ In the words of the Artist: “The pinnacle of the Book of Mormon is portrayed in the next work, JESUS CHRIST APPEARS UNTO THE NEPHITE PEOPLE.

Here we witness a glorious scene fulfilling the words of prophets and holy men from all the ages past; the sublime climactic event of the Book of Mormon. The crux of the Book of Mormon is when Jesus Christ Himself visits the peoples in the Americas.

The book within the Book of Mormon where this happens is 3 Nephi (pronounced Nee-Fy). Christ gives several sermons to the people. One of these sermons discusses works, a concept often misunderstood in other Christian denominations.

He was saying that He loved all of them and wanted to. And then, at the start of 4 Nephi, after the account indicates Christ’s visit to the Nephites was complete, and after Mormon had written some of his own thoughts, he returns us to an account of the people just after Christ’s visit: 1 And it came to pass that the thirty and fourth year passed away, and also the thirty and fifth.

We learn their names in the narrative of Third Nephi, when Jesus appeared to the Nephites the second time. Their names were Nephi, Timothy, Jonas, Mathoni, Mathonihah, Kumen, Kumenonhi, Jeremiah, Shemnon, Jonas, Zedekiah, and Isaiah. Among them, there were a number of brothers, which testifies of the power of families when it comes to faith.

The Lord commands Nephi to make metal plates to chronicle the events of his people, their genealogy, and write the gospel the Lord gives him. The final parts of First Nephi contain some teachings of Jesus Christ. He quotes Isaiah (Chapters 48 through 54).

He says. The Nephites separated from the Lamanites (2 Nephi –17) and were saved because of the prayers of the righteous (Alma ).

According to 3 Nephi —, Jesus taught and ministered among the Nephites. After they were converted, they enjoyed many blessings, but then they became proud and vain (4 Nephi ).

Jesus Visits the Nephites and Lamanites in the American Continent after his death and resurrection. Side n As depicted in 3 Nephi and 3 Nephi 11 and   In 3 Ne Jesus then gave the sign of the commencement of the final dispensation of the work of the Lord (i.e., the coming forth of the Book of Mormon).

In 3 Ne He quoted Isaiah 54 to give the Lord’s promises in the latter-days—the fulfillment of the covenants that He had made with Israel. Fourth Nephi is amount the shorter books in the Book of Mormon, containing only a single chapter, but it covers almost three centuries of the history of the Nephites and the Lamanites (ca AD 35 to ).

The book describes the period of time immediately following the visit of Jesus Christ to the Book of Mormon peoples, in which time the Nephites and the Lamanites are all converted to the Church of Christ. Those who oppose God and kill prophets will be completely destroyed. Generations of prophecy are fulfilled when Jesus Christ visits the people of the Book of Mormon following his crucifixion and resurrection.

In his short time among these “other sheep,” Christ teaches about the path of discipleship, inaugurating a centuries-long period of.

Laman and Lemuel hate Nephi so much they want to kill him. The people eventually split into two groups: the Nephites and the Lamanites.

These groups are often at war, and their faith is constantly being tested. This faith fills the pages of the Book of Mormon in the form of powerful sermons, life lessons, and spiritual experiences.

This is the first of what I hope will be many “highlights” of various people in scripture. Today, I’d like to start with the person we are first introduced to in the Book of Mormon: Nephi (pronounced “nee-fye”).

The Book of Mormon is record of God’s dealings with the people of the Ancient Americas, but it begins in Jerusalem. Nephi is the first person to write in the Book of Mormon.
