    “A Day in the Life: Editing and Writing for the New Art Examiner,” in The Essential New Art Examiner, eds. Terri Griffith, Kathryn Born, and Janet Koplos (DeKalb, . Lynne Warren has been a curator for more than three-decades at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. She has specialized in monographic exhibitions, often highlighting artists with a significant relationship to Chicago, and has amassed expertise in the area of Chicago history from to the present, with an emphasis on artists of the s to the s, as well as expertise in the field.

    Although this issue of the New Art Examiner focuses on figuration, conceptual and abstract modes are as potent here as representational efforts. Among my parents’ art books was a big book of drawings I loved as a child and now have and love still: Saul Steinberg’s The Labyrinth. It has just been republished by the New York Review of Books.

Saul Steinberg () was from a Romanian Jewish family. He studied architecture in Milan and in fled Fascism to land eventually.
